Welcome Cowboys and Cowgirls Tanque Verde Dude Ranch – a Sabino Springs writers’ retreat highlight. Our week in Tucson was coming to a close. After the Friday morning workshop, 10 writers visited Tanque Verde Dude Ranch for a Tucson-style barbecue under the cottonwoods. We’d come to expect the usual mid-70s temperatures and clear blue skies. Tucson did not disappoint. No flies, no spiders, no snakes, no lizards, no scorpions – perfect winter conditions.
