I want love
to be obvious,
both
loving and
being loved.
No guessing.
No having to
reassure
myself
or others.

Unlike Wild Flower this image came first, then the poem. After a walk in the woods at the lake in May, I was sorting through the sixty or so photographs I had taken, when this one spoke to me. While I worked with the image, the poem took shape and eventually made it to paper.

This is a lovely image. I think it’s great that you combine photography with poetry. I understand the time lapse between events, waiting for the message to come. You’ve reduced the concept of love to a very simple desire. Well said.

Thanks, Mary. Two passions coming together, writing and photography, now there’s a fascinating love affair!
