I was curious to see what natural nighttime lighting filtering through the top of the tall living room window would do to the texture of this pewter serving tray in macro. Placed the tray on the floor, plopped myself down and formed a tripod with my elbows and knees. Somehow all those ‘channels’ remind me of icing on a cake … rich creamy chocolate icing on a dark chocolate devil’s food cake!

This design looks like it could come from the carved stones at Newgrange in Ireland. Very cool shot.

I’ll look them up! I’ve been to Ireland twice, once to each of the north and south coasts. Need to do at least three more trips … east, west and interior. I don’t remember the Newgrange so future trip!

Hi Marge, Thanks for stopping by. I would love to be around when the pewter designer was making this. I have the matching bowl too … an attractive serving set!

A pattern that holds so much interesting possibilities. The chocolate icing version sounds yummy! It reminds me of the maze in the Alice In wonderland movie by J. Depp. Beautiful photo and I enjoyed your enthusiasm in how you took the picture of the tray. Passion over Art!
