We were heading out into Georgian Bay to San Souci Island (Ontario, Canada) for dinner when we spotted this cottage on fire right after takeoff (smoke just below the horizon). The pilot called it in. A great number of cottages in this vicinity (mine included) are water access only. The possibility? The water boat might get there in time to save some of the building. And the other possibilty, the water-bomber plane may be called in if the forest is threatened.
I found the breadth and depth of the interpretations of this week’s challenge fascinating. Some you might enjoy ….

I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, it looks like a wonderland, and the idea of little cottages with water access only is intriguing …. mmm a great retreat possibility too!

I’ve been in love with Ontario’s “Near North” since I was a kid! I have had 2 or 3 writers retreats at my cottage … very relaxing setting.

I hope the fire was put out on time. That is one amazing and beautiful aerial shot. It must breathtaking to live in that area surrounded by blue waters. Have a blessed weekend my friend.

And … a great memory. That was the first time we ‘flew’ to dinner and it was how we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary!

I did feel good to call it in. But we were far enough away and our flight path took us in the opposite direction that we never knew the outcome.

Cheryl, this pic reminds me of Maine. There is a place in the mountains of western Maine called Rangeley which looks just like your picture. Thanks for sharing!
