Recently The Daily Post published a showcase of beautiful street photography blogs from the WordPress.com community. Now it’s my chance to give street photography a shot! The challenge this week: To share a picture that captures a fleeting moment on the street!
It was definitely a fleeting moment with this wanderer on River Street in Savannah, GA., who delighted us one evening with a few sidewalk card tricks. He was afraid the police would chase him off the street. You’ll see the leash of his constant traveling companion around the wrist of the hand holding the cards. He was moving so fast I didn’t get time for a shot of his dog.
Other interpretations of this week’s challenge:

He truly was a character! I’m sure he had many tales to tell but he was a rolling stone.

Your captured a very important fleeting moment. How many times do we meet wanderers on the street, but fail to look back or take a moment to see their performances. How many of us take the time to know their story no matter how fleeting it may be. Today you took a moment, and I bet you made this man really happy and appreciated. Great post my friend. Happy 4th of July!

Thank you Mr. B … from our fleeting moment I learned that he and his dog are walking America. In some cities and towns he is allowed to just ‘be’ … in others he is monitored by the police and, as in Savannah, asked to leave.

Thank you, Catbirdinoman and you are welcome for the ping! You live an exquisitely unencumbered life. I particularly like the quote,”The first 40 years of parenthood are always the hardest” …

Thanks Cheryl, and because of that quote, I’m not totally unencumbered. I still have 3 children in Virginia who I miss very much! And as you know, parenthood never ends, even when they grow up!! 🙂
