Thank you Mr. B. Autumn is a magical view of nature preparing for the harshness of winter, preparing to rest. It is my favourite season.

I was blown away by the shear size of that one red leaf. It almost looks like I pasted it on … but it was about to fall to the ground! Lucky shot.

oh, I love that simple little herald of autumn, the Red Leaf. So simple and elegant. Great shot, wow!

Thank you, Christy. It was a very lucky shot. We were hiking a conservation trail and it had dropped when we came back that way 20 minutes later!

Okay so autumn isn’t quite so bad when we get colour like this!

I love the fall, but know what you mean, Gilly. The rains and damp cold won’t hit for another month or so.

Gorgeous, Cheryl. I won’t be seeing many autumn leaves this year, so this is a treat for me.

I was further north for a couple of days this week. Even with our extended summer drought this year, the reds were a deep crimson.

It certainly feels autumn in England these days. I love this eye-catching image and it does convey the spirit of early autumn.

“Early Fall” … yes. Soon it will be rain and damp, but I’m loving this short reprieve from the heat and allergies!

Fall is my favourite season too, Kristen – crisp air, allergy relief. Next fav is Winter (shockers, eh?), then Summer. Spring is my least favourite … it smells like worms (says the former farm girl)!

Beautiful colour and composition, Cheryl. It’s a simple, iconic image but brings so much to mind: thoughts of fall, but also summer’s end and winter’s approach …

Thanks Allyson. It was a timely shot too. By the time we walked back that way on the trail, the leaf had already dropped!
