So much said without words! I’d love to watch autumn paint the landscape from that chair on the dock.

Ah, Janet … there’s a matching chair at the end of that dock just waiting for you! Harp music would make it perfect.

What a wonderful invitation! My harp could definitely fit on the dock.

Beautiful. I think I might have to add a ‘Wordless Wednesday’ to my blog. Lovely idea.

You should! I love the freedom of posting just a photo, but one that tells a story!

Love the colour of the dock leaves and the tree leaves, that chair at the end gazing into the end of the gentle seasons. There is nothing like a lake shore. Hey, isn’t “red leaves” using words? it just occured to me!

Guess you are right and I’m the one that’s always been reluctant to title my photos!

Such rich colours, Cheryl, and a beautiful but melancholy feel. One gets the sense of the fallen leaves slowly advancing and taking over … which they are!

They were definitely taking over until the wind flung them onto the water!

Love it and the way you have presented it. Might need a warm coat to sit there though!

Speaks volumes, this. Mostly along the lines of: forget the rake, somebody get me a cuppa something warm, and a book! 🙂

You are such a giggle! The wind swept the leaves (and a ton of pine needles) into the lake at the shore – looked solid enough to walk on!

So gorgeous and peaceful. Looks just a view from a cottage I was in on Canoe Lake recently. Love the leaves and the muted everything….

Thanks, Kristen. I begin to miss the lake when the leaves fall this deeply. Was feeling very nostalgic until we got hit by hail, twice, on Saturday, and it was 2 degrees Celsius when I fled south Sunday mid-morning!

Used the polaroid framing to emphasize that NOW is the seasonal turning point for closing things down in cottage country … feel extreme nostalgia at this time of year. Next year we’ll be living here.
