Thanks, CCJ. Hmm … fodder for a short story or two?

This photo just works on so many levels – the image itself has so much to draw you in, and then there are all the potential stories that the thermos in the cold and snow evoke. And I love the whole create-art- out- of-the-everyday aspect, too. Great all over, if you ask me!!!

I am one of the few among my (getting-up-there) pals who still love the snow! Thanks for the feedback!

Your thermos photo is beautiful – so shiny and bright and evocative
of wonderful winter outings! And I also noticed that your photo of a cabin on December 26 is remarkably similar to the one I posted yesterday (before I saw yours – a funny coincidence).

The lines of the thermos do something optical and suggest movement in the background also. Pure winter colour. And I can feel that cold steel… heated from the inside. A lovely metaphor.

I’ve been dragging that stainless steel thermos around for too long to remember. Found it on my travels all alone and abandoned on the shelf in one of those (now) old fashioned local hardware stores. Keeps it contents warm for hours!

Thank you, Gilly. And, yes on the mend. Taking the trip north yesterday was a great idea … -12C, bright sunshine and clean, crisp air … and so rejuvenating.

I like the reflection of the trees and sky in the cap, and the flow of the wavy lines up the sides. Is that a reddish bush of some sort behind? Or a fire? I was imagining the thermos to contain hot chocolate!

The reflection also includes the new house under construction … in the cap! The reddish bit is a bonfire I lit outside to keep us warm while we puttered about in our ‘future’ home.

The perfect accompaniment to a woodsy walk. Hopefully with a nip of something in your coffee.

It was a filled with piping hot white tea, a glob of honey, slices of ginger and lemon. My ‘cure’ when feeling under the weather.
