A great shot, Cheryl. Glad you had the gumption to resist going to bed and got your camera out instead. At 1 am I don’t know that i would have cared about the artistic nature of the composition.

Thanks, Janet. “Gumption” is such a polite word for crazy! 🙂

Mmm…looks like a hot soup is about to be served. It’s been raining here is Houston and for the past 2 days, my wife made noodle soup for me and my son. Loving it. Have a great weekend.

If it wasn’t so hot here (Fort Myers, Fla), Mr. B. it would have been hot soup. Hubby and I had just finished sharing a bowl of strawberry ice cream!

I like the lines in this photo created by the crossed spoons, and the shadow below. Pretty bowl too. It looks Japanese. There’s nothing better than sharing ice cream. Well … except not sharing one’s ice cream. 🙂

It was a tough choice to share, Allyson, since it was the last of the strawberry ice cream! I didn’t see the photo op until long after sharing – on my way to bed sometime after 1:00 am. The bowl and spoons were on the counter exactly as I had place them earlier in the evening but was more interested in the movie we were watching than any artistic value to two spoons in a bowl. Took the shot with only ‘unnatural’ light from the range hood. Surprising outcome! Focal B&W processing to ‘lift’ the bowl out of the dark surrounds. Early morning surge of creativity …

I suspected this was a sad story when I saw two spoons, one bowl. SHARING ice-cream?? No no no. (Lovely shot though! The spoons look happy.) (:

I was happier than both spoons. Not to worry Carin, I got the lion(ness)’s share of the ice cream … my favourite treat!

You say it was a small bowl but those could be table spoons!

Small bowls are the best in some ways – every bit savoured. Strange how the absent presence of the bowl’s contents makes the photo so very provocative and at the same time kind of zen, whereas a photo of the ice cream in the bowl would have had a completely different effect.

Wish I was that creative, Elizabeth. Didn’t notice the photo op until all the ice cream was gone and only the spoons remained in the bowl!

I wonder what it is you’re about to share? A bowl of ice cream??
I like the simplicity.

We had just shared a bowl of decadent, strawberry ice cream! Thankfully, for the waistline, it was a small bowl.
