Lost in the Details.

This challenge is about getting lost in the details … to work a little further into the scene. (Guest hosted by Christopher Martin)

Sharing a “Lost in the Details” version of the Mysore Fig tree root system:

I worked further into the photo using a light touch of HDR post-processing in an attempt to enhance and lift the texture of the root system. The roots of this unusual fig species grow 90% above the ground.

The photo was taken at the Edison Ford Estate & Museum in Fort Myers, Fla.  It was one of a number of trees brought by Ford and Edison from exotic locations around the world in the late 1800’s in the hopes it would be a viable source of rubber (latex) to grow in the region.

A longer view of the massive Mysore Fig tree last measured in 1994 at 105′ tall!
