What a cool, artistic device. Unique and beautiful. Love the vintage effect as well.

Thanks, Mr. B. To think that post-processing gave these mangled old clock ‘guts’ new life makes me grin … ear to ear!

Funny you should say that, Carole … I’ve painted it in my head at least three times. So many artsy things lined up post-move to the lake house end of May, hopefully.

Love the color!!! I didn’t peek – the gears look like clockworks or some interesting meteorological instrument. It’s a great abstract.

Beautiful! I love the colours and the mysterious inner workings… Now I want to try posterizing. Is that an app or what?

Elizabeth, it’s part of Picasa3 photo post-processing FREEware. Although I have Photoshop Elements I just can’t seem to let go of Picasa, partly because I’m used to it, but mostly because I prefer ‘au naturel’ images so don’t use it much. But, when I do want to play (experiment) with a blah shot I go to Picasa first. Give it a try. Let me know what you think. Email me if you have any questions.

I love it. Makes me think of the movie Hugo, which is also a book Nellie and I will hopefully get to one day..

Thanks, Kristen! Well, it is a clockworks jazzed up a bit … Hugo ought to be such a fun read for the two of you.

Interesting photo, Cheryl! I wouldn’t have known what it was either, except that it was the inner workings of something. I like what you’ve done with it using posterize. Great colour contrasts and shapes.

Thanks, Allyson. All the house construction ‘stuff’ is putting quite the cramp in my creative side but playing with this was a great mini-fix!

No idea what it is but I love the colours against the black. The mystery of it makes it a wonderful meditation piece. Cogs of some kind. The inner workings of your mind perhaps?? (I had a feeling it would be a colourful place!) (;

Took a shot through the back of an antique mantle clock … had a riot playing with the post-process, and now I want to put it to canvas! That rusty red certainly could reflect the current state of my mind, Carin!
