Phonography Month
It’s phonoegraphy month, and what do we love to photograph with our cameraphones? Food. So why fight it? This week’s theme is ‘lunchtime’.
(michelle w.)
Here’s a shot from my cameraphone of what I actually had for lunch yesterday:
When on holiday one thing I love to do, usually only once, is go out for a mammoth breakfast: eggs basted, sausage, home fries, biscuits, grits and gravy, and 2 or 3 cups of steaming hot coffee. So … this doesn’t look like that does it? The only breakfast-out rule is just two meals allowed that day.
However, when lunchtime arrived I actually had the munchies! A few paper shell pecans freshly cracked were delicious and soothed my appetite until dinnertime!

That is one yummy, healthy lunch although I was hoping to see the breakfast too which sounded delicious as well.

Like this shot of the pecan “revealed.” I have five pounds of pecans to shell…does that nut cracker really work????

Yes it does, Janet. What I like most is it is adjustable depending on the length of your pecans. Got mine at Adcock’s Pecans in Tifton, Georgia.

My old time hardware store next to my favorite farmers’ market sells them. I think there is one of these nutcrackers in my future. My hands can’t take cracking nuts with the old time nutcrackers that require hand strength to use.

So right, Janet … all this requires is a little ‘elbow grease’ and not too much of that. Just remember to adjust the screws depending on the length of the pecan.

I’ve never seen them in their shells, only topping desserts!

When I drive from Ontario to Florida, I always stop in Georgia and buy a big bag. I love them raw, Gilly, they’re so meaty and sweet and filling.
