What a wonderful moment captured. I especially like your grip on your diploma. Your hands are saying “I worked like hell for this and I’m not letting go!” Isn’t it wonderful to be reminded how strong and brave and determined you are?

You make me blush, Janet 🙂 Thank you. Back then more than one person said I was crazy!

Yes, but I think they felt my boys would ‘suffer’ somehow. And, they just couldn’t see the point doing it at my age … time out from the income stream! That was 20 years ago, today it would be different I think, Janet

What a photo treasure Cheryl. At times like that you really know why ceremonies are important. Well done!

Thanks, Allison … how could I have forgotten this ‘moment’. The other beauty in finding treasure is re-finding it decades later.

I love the expressions on both your siblings faces, too — calm pride on one (and a hint of determination to soon accomplish the same) and such mischievousness on the other! I’d love to know what they are both doing now.

Ah, Barbara … sons, not siblings 🙂 Eldest son and family live and work in Guelph; younger son same status but in Edmonton. Busy, full lives. Don’t see them as often as I’d like but admire them both for their own life accomplishments.

Nothing to add to that eyes comment…Made me immediately misty. [Though, I must say I also love the expression on the younger lad’s face… ah, this the beauty of family…]

Never knew if they thought their mom was amazing or crazy for going back to school. Managed to complete my undergrad in 3.5 years while working full time … just short of my 40th … whew!
