I would love to be walking that path with you, seeing what is over the next little rise!

Janet, What a delight-filled idea … you walking it with me! The guest house is on the shore line at the bottom of that slope.

Mine too. Then Winter, followed by Summer. Intensely dislike Spring … it smells like worms.

Ah, the story here is what’s being thought about as somebody shuffles along that path. This is a meditation trail if ever I saw one… (:

While we were waiting for house construction to begin, we carved a long, winding ‘meditation trail’ through the 6+ acres, Carin. This wider path leads to the guest house by the shore.

It is a lovely sound, Gilly, as are the aromas from the hibernating forest floor.

And over the hill, I hope, to the guest house on the shore!

This is a lovely, peaceful image. Love the light, the colours, the contrast between the red, yellow, and brown fallen leaves and the green ones still hanging on. The composition draws the reader in, makes us want to take the path and see what’s up ahead. My husband and I have been on several autumn hikes recently and I never get tired of such scenes. Looking at this I can visualize shuffling through the dry leaves.

Thanks, Allyson! We had what Sheila aptly named, the sentinels, trucked in so no one could drive down the slope to the guest house. We’ll deliver guests in the ‘muscled-up’ golf cart if need be.

You’ve done it again, Cheryl, made me yearn, to be there. I can feel everything about this picture, the crispy leaves, the beautiful stone blocks, the filtered light, the golden colours – sigh!

Allison, I still have fingers crossed that one day there will be a WW gathering here. I love where I live. Nature reveals her magic in big and small ways every day. Snow on the ground this morning!

This is so lovely. I want to walk down that path; I want to scuff those leaves … above all I want to see where the path leads, through those solid but un-ostentatious stone “gates”.

OK … when are you coming, Barbara? The guest house waits at the bottom of the slope. This double wide path intersects the start of the single file, winding trail we carved through our 6+ heavily forested acres that sit in the midst of 100’s of acres of forest.
