We have one of these, and many tupperware containers of shelled pecans in the freezer thanks to it. I hope you have a very merry Christmas, Cheryl, and that the first Christmas in your new home is a special one!

Merry Christmas to you, Janet. If 4.5 feet of snow is special, than your wish has come true. A pal said we are living in a Christmas Carole. It is beautiful out there.

Yikes! That’s probably more snow than I’ve seen my entire adult life. Are you going to migrate south in the new year?

We plan to head to south for ten days some time in January.

Have resisted reading the comments and am guessing a nut cracker. Whatever it is, a pretty shot with the echo of tree behind and the WordPress snow a-fallin’….

It is a nutcracker, Carin. Found it passing through Georgia on a road trip to Fort Myers.

Very intriguing Cheryl, and somewhat mysterious! I love the simple composition and the seasonal theme – but what is the implement in front?

A nutcracker, Allison, meant to shell pecans … perfectly! It’s adjusts for the length of the pecan.

Ah, well if I had not read the comments above I would have been as puzzled as Jayde-Ashe. What a great juxtaposition of shapes. I was figuring the “machine” was a cardboard-punch of some sort, out of which you’d fashioned the shape for the black Chirstmas tree, a sort of tree-making machine. It looks like a very efficient nut cracker. And I love the way the diagonal of its handle works against the upward thrust of the trees in behind. Lovely shot — and again, a great smile first thing this morning. Merry Christmas!

Great shot! Ill expose my ignorance and ask what the contraption is behind that little Christmas tree?

I thought it might be but I didn’t want to embarrass myself if it wasn’t! Clearly I need one 🙂
