I love photos where the POV of the viewer is the same (sort of) as that of the subjects. We are looking out with them at the rainy green morning and the forest. The ambiance created by the image also made me wish to be there too for the big mugs of coffee. And I love Carin’s comment as well!

And I wish you were here too to share big mugs of coffee, Elizabeth.

I had a feeling that was Mary. 😉 This warm, evocative photo really speaks of friendship, Cheryl. It feels casual and unposed — as if we’ve just happened upon you two in a private moment one morning, talking birds or trees or something woodsy. (Or perhaps something more intimate — who knows.)

I love this more than I can say. What emotion it conveys! Friendship, intimacy, that fabulous groggy good-morning-world-has-anyone-put-the-kettle-on? feeling. You have to know someone well to stand shoulder to shoulder in matching bathrobes at the edge of a forest. Full of warmth, this. A beautiful shot. To be framed and cherished.

Thank you, Carin … we just had a big “ahhhhh” hug inspired by your comment! And, true confession … we drained big cups of coffee before we went out to the verandah to brave the wind and rain and bugs to take the photo!

How evocative. I can hear the early morning bird song, smell the fresh air. (And if I was just tempted to do a bit of word-play with “bird song” … well I resisted or at least deleted!) Lovely picture. Sweet and heartening.

Thank you, Barabara. Writing pal and good friend, Mary McIntyre, has made time in her hectic schedule to spend a few creative and relaxing days with me up here!
