Thank you, Janet … do you recognize this ‘mystery’ plant that sprung up in my rookie wild garden? I’d love to look it up … if I just knew the name!

Try googling helenium waltraut images and see if you think that’s what it is. Gorgeous photo – I love the background of abstract pools of colour contrasting with the precision of the flower.

If ever a woodland creature wanted to speak, this one does. Lovely earth-risen star.

Oh, Barabara! What a stunning turn of poetic phrase to describe this, and other, lovely bits pushing up through the earth in my rookie wild garden, “… earth-risen star”!!!

Nice how you’ve done the background, that graininess and the vivid green against the yellow. What a lovely find in your woodland! Possibly a gaillardia?

Possibly, Carin. Great to have a place to start researching. Thanks. So pleased to see it in the rookie wild garden with all it’s other yet-to-be-named blossoms. I know daisies and clover …

Looks so much like a painting, Cheryl! It’s almost as if the flower is beckoning us in to its inviting embrace.

Thanks, Allison … It as too wet and windy to get that beautiful blossom to just stand still for a moment. Lots of fun post-processing.
