Thanks, Elizabeth. A couple of days after this shot, the petals dropped leaving just the ‘pom pom’. My timing is rarely so good!

Thanks, Gilly. Don’t know how they stand so erect against the weight of that blossom!!

As for the shot… a dilly. And in inclement weather! Such a trooper you are. In your jammies too I’ll bet.

Heeheehee … no jammies. I was afraid I’d slip in the mud … now there’s a picture … 🙂

I’ll admit that I’ve never stopped and really looked at a single clematis bloom. Not a vine that has done especially well in our yard. A couple are finally doing okay. You know how some people have show-stopping blooms? If we have a dozen, we’re over the moon. Oops. No pun intended, WW pic-wise.

I have two blossoms for this newly planted clematis, Carin, and thrilled about it!

What a sweet nodding beauty indeed. I love the contrast between the fluffy “inner” and the calm outer petals. Beautiful.

We are in Zone 5 … this clematis looks so delicate, but it is hardy to this growing region, Janet. So pleasantly surprised

You did catch a beauty Cheryl – all the more so in braving the rain and mosquitos! I can imagine this lovely gem standing proudly and colourfully through it all.

It was a glowing, bright spot in an otherwise dismal day, Allison! Thank gawd for ‘After Bite’ 🙂
