Cheryl, I love the way you captured the quiet beauty of the Berkshire Mountains. It takes me back to the amazing experience I had with you at Rowe, MA, and Pat Schneider’s “Poetry Party” at the Centre.

Diana, thank you so much for encouraging me to find an opportunity to attend one of Pat’s events. BTW – You are a fabulous road tripper.

Wow! Brrrr! Beautiful. What a superbly composed picture, the lovely old house shown through the archway, past the barricade of snow.

Why thank you, Barabara! It was the hammock in the right lower corner of the frame that caught my quirky eye.

I am envious as we have had a terrible year for winter sports – endless cycle of snow, rain, deep freeze in that order every time. That looks so inviting – yes, even the hammock to loll in après ski with a nice mug of cocoa and peppermint schnapps. Hope you had a wonderful time!

I’m still processingall the wonder, Elizabeth … how much I learned at the “Poetry Party” Workshop, the setting in the Berkshire Mountains, the road trip there with a wonderful pal. Sigh!

I’m 5’7″ Gilly, and I had to raise the camera above eye level to get the angle I wanted that also included the hammock.

I can’t tell if that’s a hill we’re looking at or if the snow is INCREDIBLY deep. It’s an intriguing shot either way, Cheryl. As a viewer I wasn’t sure where you were standing when you took this, but I like the way the arch frames it, and the deep red of the building against the pristine white snow. I was in the Berkshires for a writing workshop a few years ago, but in autumn. It’s beautiful there in any season.

It’s a snow bank outside the back deck of the Conference Centre. The hammock appealed to me as much as the building, Allyson.

Interesting, this. We have the feeling we’re under the cover of a roof, inside something yet that something contains giant hills of snow. Good grief. Has it come to that in the near north?? That there’s no more room ‘outside’ for the white stuff and you’ve had to let it in?? Shall we send in the hounds, or just a few of their kegs? I will keep an eye out for smoke signals… (:

You can send the hounds to Rowe MA … I took this shot from the back deck of the Centre at the top of Adam Mountain in the Berkshire Mountain range … just couldn’t resist the message in that snowbound hammock.

Our snow is already starting to shrink, Janet, not actually melt just yet despite the sunny days. It’s as if the powder exhaled and settled. I was in Rowe MA last weekend for a poetry workshop when I took this shot from the back deck of the Conference Centre in the Berkshire Mountains.
