Your photo looks so cool and refreshing! (it’s 101 F here today.) there used to be a swing bridge just like this one at the coast – now unfortunately replaced with a towering bridge monstrosity.
Allison, I’m so impressed you are touring WW and commenting considering where you are today! The swing bridge is opening to let the Island Queen into Parry Sound harbour on its way back from cruising the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay. When you come here for a visit, I’ll take you on the cruise!

An optical illusion at this angle. The bridge doesn’t look as though it actually spans that space. And I’ll sign up for that tour too. (:

I know what you mean Carin. It has to open all the way to allow the Island Queen to pass through. You are definitely on for the tour!!

What is it that is so magical about ferries? Or is that just me?

You are not alone, Gilly. I love this one. All new visitors are taken for a ride to view a small portion of the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay ON.

Opening, closing? It looks so welcoming in any event. Can’t quite catch the name on the ferry?
