I was going to say exactly what Allison said. Great shot of a memorable corner!

Boy, things have certainly changed. I used to walk past this building daily in the 1970’s … don’t recognize much else.

It’s changed dramatically since I worked downtown late 80’s, early 90’s

One of my favourite ‘views’ of the city. You captured it well. Did you have a peameal bacon at the market? And if so, mustard, mayo, both (or more?). (: Lovely ‘hood, tho’ I miss Nicholas Hoare…

Not this time, Carin, but I have been enjoying that mouth watering treat every visit to the Market since I moved this way in 1992 (mustard)! Lunch date at the Marche … Rosti and beef stew with a icey cold glass of Organic beer.

This looks familiar, is it a famous building?

It’s the ‘Flat Iron’ building in Toronto Gilly. This link will take you to it’s history: http://www.aviewoncities.com/toronto/flatiron.htm

That’s brilliant thanks, I thought it might be but I can only have seen it because of blogging – so wonderful what we learn!

What a wonderful juxtaposition of old and new, Cheryl – also the variety of shapes of the buildings is so interesting!

Thanks, Allison … I’m lucky I didn’t walk into traffic I was looking ‘up’ so much!

Great picture — but I’m worried about that curve-fronted building on the left — is it doing a “Pisa” lean? Will the FlatIron be flattened? wonderful atmospheric shot.

Haha … good eye Barabara … I posted the uncropped version. You shouldn’t be able to see the “no stopping” sign either. The “L” building is not a sad immitation of the famous leaning tower. Limitations of the camera in my new Galaxy Note 4.
