Such pretty shapes and the detail of the frost is great!

Thanks! By the time I returned from 2 klm walk with the dogs the frost had melted. So glad I got them to ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ while I grabbed from cell phone shots!

What a beautiful shot Cheryl, though it makes me shiver to think how cold that morning was! Brrrr.

Thank you … and it will only get a lot colder, but then, I love Winter. Weird or what?

Oh this is stunning. Almost looks like a cookie ornament hung outdoors. That it’s *real* is just so amazing. Am picturing a VERY frosty morning with superb light. Well done!

The grass and fallen leaves … everything … was ‘crispy crunchy’ under foot, Carin!

Hi Cheryl, such a gorgeous shot — the iridescent colour of the leaves is exquisite. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Diana. Everything in the hundreds of acres of forest was frosted yesterday morning.

I had a similar reaction to Barbara, that it might be something edible. It reminds me of sugared rose and violet petals, which I love. But more astringent, autumnal, chilly…

I was ‘snap happy’ yesterday morning, Elizabeth. The pups were so bored with repeated ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ every few steps they finally just sprawled on the road.

Just gorgeous, Cheryl. You’ve caught that moment where fall and winter meet. There’s something about frosted leaves that’s so beautiful and transitory. I love the use of macro and the depth of field that brings the subject into sharp relief but gives us a hint of the winter-ready woods behind.

A beautiful early morning walk with the pups yesterday, Allyson … a spectacular display put on by Nature at daybreak. By the time we did our two klms it was over.

I want to dunk this gorgeous frosty leaf cluster straight into a lemony drink… Or just plain crunch those leaves. Or simply gaze in wonder. what a marvellous ode to a frosty morning, so freshly and excellently caught.

This delicate rendering of autumn caught my breath when I first opened it Cheryl. You’ve captured the fragile beauty of winter delicately taking over from fall while fall makes it’s last pitch.
