The track is so perfect it almost looks artificial, or is that just your usual photographic magic with details and closeups?

Elizabeth, I took the shot with my cell phone while walking the dogs early Wednesday on our road in a half inch of fresh snow. Added the ‘frame’ using Picasa3 freeware.

Such an interesting presentation, Did you take the photo outside and then frame it? And I gather it’s a wolf track? Yikes. But it makes for a fascinating and ominous image!

It is a wolf print, Gilly. Took the shot with my cell phone this morning on the road while walking the dogs! Had no idea we had wolves in this area.

Do your bells work for wolves too?

Wolves AND bears? Next you’ll be telling me there are lions and tigers too. Oh my. (beautiful shot though, and something very touching about the fact that you took this pic… it feels respectful, as well as awe inspiring; I love how you live with, and understand, your neighbours)

Working hard at the understanding part, Carin, but thank you. Admit to feeling far more spooked by wolf tracks than bear.

THAT is so glorious and so scary!!! And so beautifully captured and presented. It looks almost as if we are looking UP at a snowy window with the bear’s paw about to break through the glass. You’re really caught the sense of hugeness and ominousness and everything that I, at least, would feel if I were walking in the woods and came across such tracks on the path. You are very brave.

Even scarier than the bear, the tracks are wolf, Barabara. Bears are shy; not sure what would have happened if the two dogs and I had come face-to-face with momma wolf and cub on our road! (Black bear paws have five toes.)
