Lovely shot, especially the narrow depth of field — that pattern of spring green and brown beyond (green taking over brown) — that highlights this unusual (to me, anyway) plant. It looks quite exotic. But you say it’s a weed? I suppose it must be to be growing in the woods. I’m curious. You’ll have to share a later photo, once it’s “bloomed.”

Even in the forest here it looks quite oriental in it’s minimalism. But I’ll bet it turns out to be a nasty weed of some kind, Gilly.

Sweet breath of spring — I love the close focus, the soft fuzzy character of the emerging leaves, the story of the season left behind all blurry in the background.
