What came first, the egg cup or the ….? Oh my, what fun. I just want to know what marvellous feathered fellow has been up to things in the night in your kitchen. what a sweet whimsical shot, and, by the way, what a well built nest.

And such a tiny nest, Barabara. Found it on a walk in the woods. No idea what species of bird would create this miniature. It not only survived the winter but a fall to the ground, where I almost stepped on it.

Cheryl, this is lovely. Is it your creation? What a creative creation and I love the stark white of the ceramic egg cup and the softness of the egg against the brown twiggy twigs.

The twiggy twigs is actually a tiny birds nest I found on a walk in the woods. I composed this shot to demonstrate just how tiny it is – egg cup size. The chicken egg was a snug fit.

Oh, thank you, Gilly. Discovered this tiny nest on a walk in the woods. Tried to do a comp that emphasized just how tiny (yet sturdy) it is.

The whites are so alike it looks almost as if you’ve cut a single something and made a nest sandwich. Your staging skills astound!

So, what tiny bird do you think would create such a tiny nest? It fit the diameter of the egg cup perfectly and the large chicken egg was a tight fit

Thank you for the link. I have no idea what tiny bird made this tiny nest. Any ideas? Discovered it in cottage country Ontario.

Thanks for the pingback and link! I found this miniature nest on a walk in the woods. I staged it this way to show just how tiny it is next to the chicken egg and egg cup.
