Ooh gorgeous, is it a plate for hanging on a wall or to actually use?

It’s a small, square pewter serving tray with matching, Gilly. Something I brought home from one of my trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

If it didn’t have the label, “Pewter”, it would have been a complete mystery to me. But still, that only gives me the material – the pattern is enchanting and now I’ve allowed myself to read the other comments I know what it is. You’ve given it a lovely treatment and what a lovely object to have in your home.

Thanks, Allison. I was sure someone would think it looked like icing … icing on a chocolate cake.

I gave a WOW when I saw this. Like some of the others, I felt it might possibly be something you’d done in clay … so tactile. Really lovely competition, and so satisfying. Great technique you used.

Although I’ve always wanted to I’ve never worked with clay, Barabara. Strange, eh?

This has everything — lovely light and shadow, texture, flowing lines. Pleasing composition. The shininess makes it look wet, like finger swirled through wet mud or clay. As Elizabeth said, very tactile. A worthwhile experiment, Cheryl.

Thank you, Allyson. Sometimes I just like to ‘play’. Most times it doesn’t work out 🙂

To me too, it feels like something traced in mud or clay – so very tactile, just oozing with texture. Is it something you made yourself?

It’s a pewter tray, Elizabeth, that I brought back from one of my Mexico trips. Took the shot at nigt, indoors, in front of the big window. Macro lens, on ‘bulb’ setting using a tripod and remote control.

Before I read the title, my first impression was something petrified with worm tracks. It’s like a little worm maze. Looking forward to the reveal you trickster, you!

Sorry, no worms, Carin. It’s a B&W macro of a small pewter tray on the floor in front of the big window. Trick wasI took the shot by natural light at night – a long exposure.
