Absolutely stunning, how lucky to capture it. I’d like a silk dress in those greens 🙂

I love your insect shots. This is beautiful, and prompted me to do a bit of googling. Found this poem and some background to their ‘metamorphosis’, which I didn’t realize. http://www.norcrosswildlife.org/the-dragon-fly-by-alfred-lord-tennyson/ Thank you for inspiring some happy reading.

This is truly stunning, Cheryl. I can’t believe you captured the gossamer wings and that shaft of the silver-lime body – and all perfectly placed on the rough wood grain. Beautiful!

It was a beautiful specimen. Thank Gawd I had my cell phone in my pocket. It was sunning itself on the dock …

Oh my, how perfect. The golden body, the delicate wings. And how perfectly placed within the frame of the picture, against the diagonal weathered silvery wood. A treasure.

Thank you Barabara … it was resting on the dock in the sun. Perhaps he’d just worked his way out of the exoskeleton and was drying his wings. I nearly missed him not only because he was so tiny but so close to the colour of the weathered dock.

A truly stunning picture. We have some that visit the garden – they always stay perfectly still until I remember my camera. The thought makes them immediately evaporate into thin air!

Share your frustration. This time I had my cell phone in my pocket. The shot is grainy because that dragonfly was so tiny. But it’s better than no shot at all!
