Now that is a perfect example of what I meant by “glorious decay”. And exquisite framing of the photo too – that tracing of green adds so much. Where is it?

On a tiny side street in Key West, Elizabeth … taken a couple of years ago … before Irma. Hope the ancient building holding up the scroll work still stands.

Cheryl, I’m so much enjoying this series. In this example, I love the juxtaposition of the delicate scroll work against the rough and overgrown concrete with the beautiful hues of colour coming from the natural aging and nature herself.

I am enchanted with this series Cheryl. Lovely and intricate work indeed — what a find, where? I see that there is a “window” behind the screen and so I am imagining the scrollwork also served a protective purpose in days of yore, and I am imagining who might have languished behind that window, a young lady locked away by her family, lest her lover appear with a ladder? Definitely a story here!
