Oh dear what a story here. Some little guy who left his/her bike out on the porch and it got pinched, taken on a joy ride … abandoned. And the mother, sensibly but sadly, says to the kid: well that’s it, sorry, no we can’t go looking for another “used one” for you. Yes?

It had been tossed into a pile of flea market rejects and the grass had grown up and through it.

It’s unusual to see a bike in the grass like that, although I remember as a kid that was often how we left them given the right circumstances. But here it almost looks abandoned. I sense a bit of urban in the scene somewhere, that it’s not an entirely grassy area, that this is not a bike resting at a picnic site or similar.

It is a wee bit urban, Carin … Dublin, GA is fair sized town. Tossed but not abandoned by a kid. It’s a flea market reject. Must have been expensive to repair this old Western Flyer cause I’ve seen some pretty horrible wrecks for sale in flea markets.

Something kind of melancholic here, though perhaps it’s just a bike put aside by a rider on another adventure. And such a beautiful summer light.

It was sad, Elizabeth, to see it rejected and ejected from the flea market, tossed in a heap of other un-repairable junque.

Oh, that is sad. I hate seeing bicycles that could be repaired tossed away and wish I had the skills and time to repair them and give them to somebody who could use them.

What is WPC … not that it matters, I guess, if it,s being done away with.
