On Wednesdays all over the internet bloggers post a photo with no words to explain it. The idea is the photo says so much it doesn’t need a description.

Thank you Gilly … didn’t notice the man in the background grimacing and tugging at his ear when I took the shot. Lucky.

By including the man in the picture who is decidedly not posing, you’ve changed an ordinary tourist photo into a beguiling shot, Cheryl. The wash of greens also gives it a dreamy quality.

Thanks, Allison. This statue is of Mexican musician-poet Agustin Lara. When researching him and his connection to Cuba I came upon a quote that Lara didn’t sing – he barked. Leonard Cohen popped into my head!

This is lovely, Cheryl. What I assume is shadow from a nearby tree makes a wonderful backdrop and even gives a sense of ‘heat’ to the scene… the seated man possibly taking refuge in it, while ‘the other man’ is oblivious…

I was ‘grabbing’ shots from a two-hour horse and carriage ride. Our guide had enough English for me to realize which shots were important to him and to take! This statue is of Mexican musician-poet Agustin Lara.
