Dedicated to the power of ideas and original thinking

McClelland & Stewart will debut a new non-fiction imprint, Signal Books, in the fall of 2011 and later this year it’s online companion,, an interactive website intended to spark debate, ongoing dialogue and continued engagement with authors and other critical thinkers.

With the intention of furthering the collective understanding about Canada and the world, Signal will feature politics, religion, culture, history, business, and the environment.

Signal debuts with five titles, Diplomacy in the Digital Age, edited by Janice Gross Stein; In Other Worlds: SF and the Human Imagination by Margaret Atwood; Arguably: Selected Essays by Christopher Hitchens; Damned Nations: Greed, Guns and Aid by War Child North America founder Samantha Nutt; and The Anatomy of Israel’s Survival by Hirsh Goodman.
