Animals vs machines? Animals win…no gas needed! Plus horses are handsome creatures. Have a great day!

The way they stood in the traffic jam, I knew they’d been here many times before. Like humans in grid lock, they waited patiently. They were impressive creatures.

Wow — wonder what the horse thinks of it all. Such dignified animals (especially compared to pick up trucks…). Great shot, Cheryl.

Thanks, Kristen. It was actually a team of two, but the second horse is barely visible in the reflection. They seemed impervious to the traffic, red pick up truck included. They were more interested in each, nuzzling and leaning into each other every time we stopped.

You’ve captured a lovely juxtaposition here, and the reflection adds dimension and a sense of the surreal to it. I like too how the window bars “frame” the shot.

Thanks Allyson … I never saw it as a frame … just cropping out the visual distractions below the window. Cool …

And it did just ‘happen’, Gilly. I was so busy checking out the cause of the traffic jam I almost missed the reflection!

Very effective! The “worlds colliding” in this photo made me think of this:
We had sold our horses in our fathers’ time
To buy new tractors. Now they were strange to us
As fabulous steeds set on an ancient shield
Or illustrations in a book of knights…

Great juxtaposition of subjects! And I really like how the light unifies the color.

I think it was the colour in the store window that drew my eye to the shot.

Oh my goodness. This is great! Not only for its stuttering quality, but all those worlds colliding! Love!

Thanks, Carin. I was riding in the cart in Savannah, GA when I took the shot. Amazing how they manoeuvre through motor traffic without a hiccup!
