It’s fascinating what turns a simple subject into art isn’t it? this would definitely look good framed. 🙂

Thanks, Gilly. I am loving my android phone camera and apps. Not pulling the Pentax out of the bag that often these days.

I’d walk a mile in those any day!!! What a lovely shot, of a fine and relaxed pair of feet. (Nice socks, too.)

Thank you, Barabara … you nailed it right on … this is how I relax! And, these are a new pair of moccasins.Great prices up here in the off season (aka Winter) for the few small shops that don’t close up until late Spring.

I love that you love your slippers enough to take a photo in the first place but the post-processing is a brilliant choice. I suspect the ‘au naturel’ shot wouldn’t evoke the same mood. I have only ever had one pair of mocassins; I watched a woman making them. I wore them like a second skin for years. Was surprised at how well they wore, how long they lasted. I never wore socks with mine but then, well, you know… I hardly own any. (;

And my moccasins love me right back, Carin. My own version of ‘happy feet’.

This photo evokes relaxation and comfort — the subject, of course, but also the pose of the wearer. I like the black and white, emphasizing the design and bows on the slippers and stripes on the socks, and whatever treatment you gave it that makes it look almost like a drawing rather than a photograph.

This photo app on my cell is ‘Gothic Noir’. The moccasins were a recent present to me.

Cheryl, I’m finding it hard to express why I like this photo so much – I think the comfort it evokes, the suggestion, not fully defined that tells us the wearer is ok and doing something she loves (reading, writing maybe?) at the other end of those comfy moccasins that have seen many an evening by the fire.

Thank you Allison … After a hectic few days in Toronto, I am glad to be North again to the clear air, silence and solitude … and the ‘verticals’.
