Fascinating capture, especially knowing the story behind it. It strikes me this would make a great cover for a detective novel. I’m not thinking, as Barbara did, of chalk outlines, but the silhouette puts me in mind of someone ominous, dark and skulking, and in the patterned background, I imagine a sea of black faces … I love the colours you’ve chosen.

The odd thing about this is that those shapes have the appearance of trout lily leaves, event to the suggestion of being mottled. As you know, I went walking with M. recently and the blooms were only still very few so it really was a sea of ‘trout’ with those mottled leaves. Such a good snap! And, yeah, isn’t it a happy ‘trip’ when it turns out like this. (:

It was a happy ‘tipping’, Carin. Never did get a trout lily shot. Hope they put on a better (and taller, bigger) show next Spring.

Only you could turn dropping your phone into art Cheryl, brilliant, it makes an intriguing image!

Thanks, Gilly. I’m so glad it was just the phone that hit the ditch and that I managed to catch myself before tipping in after it.

What a fascinating shot. Without the back story, it has the eery feeling of those outlines that the police draw on sidewalks, kind of like a ghostly outline deciding it’s not dead after all and getting up to make its escape. But knowing the back story, well, I’m just thoroughly relieved (a) that YOU make your escape from the accident, and (b) so intrigued, both by the accidental nature of the shot and by what your ending managed to do.

Perhaps I should drop my phone in the (dry) ditch more often, Barabara, especially when it takes random snaps on each bounce!

Oh, you genius you! Knowing the backstory makes this shot sheer magic, Cheryl – even not knowing the story, this is brilliant, and not harmed by your brilliant treatment of it.

Thank you, Allison. When I saw the wee critters pop out of the background when I applied the Impressionist Mode built into my cell phone, it made me think of MIB (love all three movies) and the community of little people living in the locker … hence the caption, “Communing”.
