You definitely took this one over the top! I love the texture and the glow of the edges. Would never have discerned what the pic started as. Congrats on having the saws, etc. out of your living space!

Thanks, Janet. It was a creative challenge from me to me, and I got such a kick out of seeing what I could do with it.

My first impression was of leaves frozen into a stream – the texture looks like frost patterns and the yellow is the colour of the last leaves hanging on here just now. Fun experimentation!

It was fun, Sheila! Love the associations you make with colour and the seasons!

Intriguing. I can’t figure out what it is exactly — it looks abstract, but then not quite. There’s a texture here, and I like the touch of yellow outlining. I’m very curious about this one! It’s pretty, whatever it is. 🙂

Pretty in TP, Allyson. I like Elizabeth’s description … toilet paper origami flower!

You mean this is something like an origami flower made of toilet paper and the cleaners did it for you? How sweet and touching! And a beautiful photo – hard to believe it was ever blah. I am going to try Picassa 3 on some of my blah photos now.

Have not read any comments so this is my unadulterated guess: bread basket with napkins and some fancy footwork treatment. If so, then may I say the ‘graininess’ is inspired! And that line of yellow running through it. Very nice effect, whatever the blazes it turns out to be. (:

Hope you don’t feel tricked, Carin. It’s bathroom tissue. Post-construction clean up crew left this blossom in the guest bathroom. A sail boat in the Master … 🙂

Well that’s where my as-yet-unchristened-due-to-leg-cast soaker tub waits …

Okay, I’m not going to read any of the comments below, yet. And will start by saying WHAT WHAT WHAT??? This is so gorgeous. I love the golden outline against the pressed-paper-looking texture of the rest. And the composition. There’s such a sense of richness and mystery. Love it. Looking forward to discovering, as above, what what what!

Pressed paper indeed, Barbara, two-ply I think. Hired a crew to do the post-construction clean up since all table saws, etc. have been removed from the house and verandah. The women were exhausted by the time they left (7 hours) yet left me this lovely blossom in the guest bathroom. I digitally enhanced a blah image using Picasa 3, Neon feature, yellow tint.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous picture Cheryl – I need more information about your technique etc. I love the charcoal with just the hint of yellow.

Thanks, Allison. I use Picasa 3 (freeware) for all of my digital processing. I converted this image to B&W then played with ‘yellow’ tint using the Neon feature. Most times I try to keep digital manipulation to a minimum, but when I have a blah photo (as this one started out) it’s an invitation to play and take it over the top. It made bathroom tissue look interesting! 🙂

Tribute to the women who did the post-construction clean up on Monday and still had the good humour to leave me this blossom in the guest bathroom!

Thanks Mary Ann. I used ‘yellow’ hue in Picasa’s Neon feature. Makes bathroom tissue blossoms look pretty cool.
