Wow. But for the at side mirror, an abstract painting. Love this! And as for story… can you imagine?? What do you know about it? Don’t tell me, your first beau’s wheels?? (:

My first beau’s wheels were a dusty blue Valiant. Found this ancient flatbed in an alley in the Distillery District, Toronto. I took several shots including long shots too, but was so embarrassed for this venerable old beast … it had a flat tire and no one seemed to care … so I used this shot today.

This is just brilliant – wonderful colours, impeccable composition and a whole that, notwithstanding the aforementioned technical brilliance, is much more than the sum of its parts.

What I meant was that the photo also conveyed what you said above about embarrassment for the venerable old beast. There is something very sad about the photo, and a strong sense of story.

Wowee Cheryl, this might be my have ever of yours. A truck full of stories of long ago … and such personality it has, the way you’ve caught it. I love the spider webs, the cracked windshield, the patina of the rusted ancient paint, the patient expression of the single “eye” waiting all the same to be lit up, the door waiting to be opened…. Where on earth???

My imagination got ramped up too, Barabara … does that not look like a bullet hole in the windshield? Oh the stories that old Dodge could tell, eh? Found it in an alley at the Distillery District in Toronto. Think … Distillery … Prohibition … Bootlegging … rum running…

The posterizing effect is brilliant on the cracked screen!

It did come out pretty cool … its a mode built into my cell phone camera, Gilly. Love the Note 4.

A truly wonderful shot Cheryl – a case of cropping to perfection. Love the way the rusty colours bleed into each other – it looks like a painting.

My cell phone has a ‘postarize’ mode that does magical things with images. Love what it did with this one too
