I agree, Gilly! Crazy Canuks … What grabbed my attention was someone shovelled out that fire pit area and the chairs were all swept clean of snow despite the fact a blizzard was coming in across the lake in the background.

Funnily enough I also recently took a photo of brightly coloured Adirondack chairs in the snow and meant to post it for WW but then forgot (it’s on my cell phone). I love yours – the lime green and lemon yellow are especially striking against the snow, and I too love the wires somehow. I think it’s the triple contrast of the hazy dreamlike snow scene, the vivid chairs and the black lines like pen and ink or etching. And I too would love to be sitting there warmly dressed with a hot mug of something!

Firstly, come west young woman and we’ll sit out there ‘with a hot cuppa something’. And, that hazy dreamlike scene … there was a blizzard going on out there, snow flakes so heavy I was able to catch them with my phone camera!

These are my kind of people. It’s never the wrong season to sit outside! Love the electrical wires in the shot… a suggestion of warm ‘somewhere’….

Not *your* restaurant here on the lake, Carin. It’s Crossroads Restaurant in the lovely town of Rosseau. Next trip we’ll sit on that deck and walk the main street.

How delightful that the owners of those chairs did not bring them inside for the winter but left them out there to light up our eyes, our imaginations, our spirits! And clearly, also, to be sat in on days when the sun comes out, as we can tell but how a space surrounding them as bee shovelled. Love this.

It was a lovely surprise to see those pops of colour, Barabara … and the fire pit ready to be lit. I bet if there was a blizzard blowing in across that lake in the background, the wonderfully raucus snowmobilers in the bar would have been out there in full gear!

Is that where you live?! Oh my gosh that’s a lot of snow! I can’t even imagine. We get so excited when we hear it’s going to flurry or we might have a dusting. I think our imaginations run wild and think some odd weather event might happen, and we will end off with a blizzard like I read about in The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls.

It is where I live, Linda. I love the winter, but we tuck our Muskoka chairs under the deck for the season. This shot was taken at a favourite, local restaurant. They keep their patio and fire pit open all winter for customers who travel across the lakes by snowmobile. Those special suits they wear are hot … a ‘cool one’ on a snowy patio around an open fire is a pretty average thing for those hardy souls to do. What region do you live in?

I live in South Carolina so no where near that much snow! Once we did get 8 inches and it was the most amazing thing ever!!! My daughter scared me to death by driving her truck from the next town over, she made me so mad. We just don’t get out and drive around in a situation like that around here.
