I like the sense of movement but also the layers here — clouds, sky, trees, lake, and then the swirl of wake. I think black and white was a good choice, because it emphasizes these components. Nicely done!

Thanks Allyson. Love night runs … akin to flying. Dark water reflecting a dark sky. There’s no middle line.

That precious old boat would be 30 years old now … it was a noisy beast but could go like stink into the night!

Do you mean this is an old photo, Cheryl, or is this a different boat? The photo is very effective, both as an abstract – almost – and for the way it conveys movement and texture. And the excitement of travel by night.

It is the first boat I purchased when I bought my first cottage on an island in Otter Lake, 2004. It was a 19 year old Doral then with only 600 hours on it! It served me well.
